As summer winds down, the flurry of back-to-school preparations begins! It's a time of organizing schedules, shopping for supplies, and getting back into routines. From picking out backpacks to checking off school lists, the process brings a mix of excitement and readiness.
Coordinating uniforms or outfits, setting up study spaces, and discussing expectations all play a part in smoothing the transition. As the first day approaches, there's a sense of anticipation in the air, as families come together to ensure a smooth start to the new school year.
We all want the best for our kids, which is why many families time their moves with the start of a new school year. The back-to-school season's influence on the housing market can alter the dynamics of negotiations. Sellers may find themselves in a stronger position as motivated buyers compete for available properties. On the other hand, buyers could encounter increased competition, potentially leading to a need for swifter decision-making and more competitive offers to secure their desired homes. With all the pressures on families, it can be tough to know if you’re making the right decision in a negotiation.
The good news is I’m here to help! Working with a real estate agent is the best way to ensure you’re getting the best value when selling or buying your home.

Donations to The Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) / The Hospital For Sick Children (SickKids) In previous Homeward Bound newsletters, I updated you on our goal of raising money for SickKids this calendar year. In case you missed it, we donate a portion of our income from every home we help our clients purchase and/or sell to CMN/SickKids. As you know The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) does awesome work in helping kids fight through and survive nasty life-threatening diseases like cancer, nonHodgkin's lymphoma, leukemia and others. They also lead the way in early diagnosis of Autism research and recovery from spinal cord injuries. SickKids, through CMN, depend on sponsorships and donations to continue their leading-edge care. YOUR REFERRALS HELP THE KIDS! Keep them coming! Who do you know considering buying or selling a home you could refer to my real estate sales team? Not only will they benefit from our award-winning service and iron clad guarantees but the kids at SickKids Hospital will benefit as well. Just give me a call or pass my number on to anyone you know considering buying or selling. My number is 905-683-7800 or 905-426-7484. Or I can be reached by email @ brian@briankondo.com.

P.S. The story below is just one example of why I support the Children’s Miracle Network / SickKids. It will help tell the story of the great work SickKids is doing better than I can
Meet Hartley. Hartley has Intestinal Failure At just one day old, Hartley was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s Disease, a congenital condition that affects the large intestine and causes motility issues in the bowel. Due to the severity of Hartley’s condition, he spent the first 100 days of his life at SickKids. During this time, Hartley received his first stoma, an opening in his abdomen to empty his waste, as well as a permanent IV. These are important to keeping Hartley alive and healthy. “When he was diagnosed, we were informed that, if he had been born just five years earlier, before the foundation of the GIFT program, he likely would not have survived,” said Hartley’s mom Ashley. |
